Mira Nair - 1988
DVD published by Editions Montparnasse
Indian, british and french collaborated on this project which was the first movie of the indian Film Director Mira Nair. Salaam Bombay is a poignant testimony of the daily life of the street children, far from Bollywood's extravagancy. 80% of the footage happened in the streets of Mumbai with actual street children. Following the movie, Mira Nair and her team founded Salaam Baalak, a NGO that helps these children.
